Tara Durkin is a high school business and technology teacher at Mission Valley High School in rural Wabaunsee County, Kansas, where she teaches a mix of business, technology, and graphics classes.
A former varsity volleyball coach, one of her greatest coaching accomplishments was winning the 2010 3A State Volleyball Tournament with her volleyball team from Osage City High School.
The wife of Martin, Tara is mother to twelve-year old Parker and nine-year old Malia. They live on a farm, a few short miles from Mission Valley, where they raise cattle.
Tara has two bachelor's degrees from Kansas State University, one in Marketing and the other in Secondary Education with a concentration in Business. In the spring of 2020, Tara will complete her Master's of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Emporia State University.
